In November 2019, organisations involved in conservation and restoration of the ecology of Aotea first met in Claris to identify shared goals and priorities for the next 3 years. On 23 November 2020, supported by an Auckland Council Community Conservation Facilitation grant, a second workshop was held to reflect on progress and agree opportunities for collaboration in 2021. Based on positive feedback from participants, it is now intended for this to be an annual event.
